Tens of thousands of unemployed Veterans 35-60 years old have applied for and been approved for VRAP. The program provides up to 12 months of VA education benefits (at $1,564 a month) directly to an approved Veteran while they pursue training towards a certificate or associates degree in a high demand career field. At the end of the training, the Department of Labor will assist the Veteran in obtaining employment. Under the law, payment for training ends in March 2014. Therefore, VA wants to encourage all those Veterans who have been approved to enroll in school to begin their training as early as possible. Applications are still being accepted. Learn more about VRAP, review eligibility requirements in detail, and submit an application
